Undelusional is a Cultural Design company that puts people at the heart of our designs. Through our proprietary methodology, Crystallising Intuition, we help our clients create cultures of trust in organisations and communities. Through Crystallising Intuition, we have supported companies to create greater engagement, collaboration and initiative with their employees. And as a result, they had higher productivity and loyalty.


Our Story

Hi, I’m Ethan, Founder of Undelusional, and this is the story of why I dedicated my life to creating a business which is now called Undelusional.

I was a medical student at the National University of Singapore, attached to the psychiatric unit. It was a case of a patient that was in the hospital for a simple surgery. It was supposed to be a routine in-and-out case, but it was complicated by a sudden delusional issue.

When I met the patient with the psychiatrist-in-charge, I discovered that the patient, a distinguished older man, was complaining about having no money to stay in the hospital.

This was a man who had plenty. His children were trying to show him facts (he had millions in the bank) to convince him but he refused to believe. The psychiatrist told me this was a “delusion of poverty”, which could be a form of delirium. It was a delusion because no matter how much facts were presented, this man was not listening.

What stuck with me wasn’t that this man had a strange delusion.

What stuck with me was that this man sounded so much like many people around me.

It wasn’t just about money. I had people who had great relationships who told me they had none. I had people with great grades but they felt stupid. I also found myself denying reality, resisting against all evidence that proved otherwise.

This was afflicting not just the patient, but many people in this modern day society!

From then on, I was dedicated to understanding this more. However, no matter how much psychological, sociological and philosophical texts I went through, I was dissatisfied with the answers they provided. When I left medical school, I started developing my own model to explain this delusion issue.

To do this, I had to start by explaining how the human mind works, by merging multiple theories and studies together. To do this, I had to experience for myself the experiences of taking full responsibility and ownership of my life. I used myself as a guinea pig to find the solution to our everyday delusions.

And when I found my current team, who understood and helped me achieve this goal even before we started Undelusional, we decided that it was time to share and impact society with what we have learnt.

Ethan Seow, Founder

Ethan is a TEDx & Creative Mornings speaker, author, entrepreneur and ex-medical student who was specialising in psychiatry. His passion for mental health led him to develop an interest in culture design, as the culture of the companies and communities dictate the emotional wellness of the employees, and in turn the productivity and turnover.

His latest project under Undelusional is The Office Matters, where his focus is on helping employees to achieve freedom from office politics and get the career they deserve.

James Lim, Co-Founder

HEAD OF OPERATIONS

James is a bio-medical science graduate who did his research on effects of dietary restriction on stroke. He is keen on finding out how to improve one’s health after his mother had a stroke when he was 16, leaving him to bring up his younger brother and managing himself. He later realises that the key to health is not restricted to dietary and lifestyle, but more importantly, the emotional well-being and thought processes that one has.

He met Ethan in 2018 and embarked on this journey to shed light on how emotions and thought processes affect workplace cultures, starting with office politics.

Stéphane-Laure Caubet, PhD

STRATEGY AND ORGANIZATIONAL CONSULTANT,

Holding a Doctorate of international law from the University Sorbonne-Paris-Cité, Stéphane-Laure has more than 10 years’ experience in the private and public sector in both Europe and Asia. Her professional experience led her to work mainly in management, recruitment and legal advisory.

She developed skills in different sectors of activities and the method of the 8S in order to help entrepreneurs.

She is member of Asia professional speakers Singapore.

Kannan Ramakrishnan, MBA

STRATEGY AND ORGANIZATIONAL CONSULTANT, PARTNER

Kannan Ramakrishnan has a background in corporate finance, strategy and private equity spanning Fortune 500 companies to startups in a variety of industries including aerospace, semi-conductor manufacturing, software, e-commerce and online games.

He spent 12 years in Silicon Valley and Singapore working for a number of companies including KLA Tencor, Analog Devices, Portal Software (now a part of Oracle) and 1-800-Flowers before shifting focus to South East Asia.
